"Great Atmosphere at Thatched House Pub I was invited by a friend to meet up at Thatched House Pub for some food and a few games of pool. I initially expected British pub food, but to my surprise, the menu had a African food (maybe east). In the evening, the venue even transforms into a nightclub, making it a versatile spot for a night out. My friend ordered me a fish dish with a rich, savoury sauce on the side, and I have to say—the fish was fantastic! Ordering is straightforward; you go up to the bar, place your order from the menu, and let them know where you’re sitting. The staff then bring your food directly to your table. I could see why my friend visits often—not just because of the great food, but also for the welcoming atmosphere. The pub had a friendly vibe, and with pool tables available in both the main and back areas, there was plenty to do. We played in the back area, but since it was the middle of winter, it was freezing out there. Luckily, they have outdoor heaters—you just need to ask at the counter for them to be turned on. It’s a great place to unwind, enjoy good food, and have a casual evening before the nightlife kicks in. The menu offers a decent selection of East African dishes, all well-seasoned and flavourful. Portion sizes are fairly average, but the quality of the food makes up for it. Later in the evening, the venue transitions into a club. I didn’t stay too late, leaving around midnight, but I noticed staff preparing the space—removing the pool tables from the main hall to make way for a dancefloor. One minor downside is the parking situation. If you don’t arrive early, finding a space is a nightmare. Even getting there early doesn’t guarantee parking, so it’s best to plan ahead with alternative transport options. Overall, Thatched House Pub is a solid choice for a pub experience with a unique twist. Whether you’re stopping by for a drink, a meal, a few games of pool, or a night out, it offers a great mix of food, entertainment, and atmosphere."
